Your information

Privacy Policy

Last updated

Aiman at abang.chat helps you practise conversational Malay. This policy explains how we handle information when you use our website and optional Mac companion, including when you sign in with Google.

1. Information we collect

  • Account details: your email address, account identifier, sign-in activity, and any name or profile image associated with your account.
  • Learning content: messages and replies, saved phrases, scratch-pad notes, quiz answers, challenge progress, and feedback or support requests. If you complete an optional learning profile, we store the age, occupation, and interests you choose to provide.
  • Purchase records: your plan, payment status, and payment-provider references. Stripe processes payment details; Aiman does not store your full card number.
  • Technical information: requests and error logs, IP address, browser or device information, session identifiers, and website usage information. Cookies keep you signed in and help protect sign-in requests; local device storage can hold preferences and cached content.

2. Signing in with Google

When you choose Google sign-in, we request only identity and email permissions (openid and email). We verify Google's response and use your verified email address and Google account identifier to create or find your Aiman account. A matching verified email can connect Google sign-in to an existing Aiman account, so your learning history stays together.

We store the email address and account identifier for future sign-ins. We do not retain Google access or refresh tokens in your account. We do not request permission to read your inbox, send email through Gmail, or access your Google files. Google sign-in information is used for account access and security, not as learning content sent to AI models.

Google also processes your sign-in under its own privacy policy. You can remove Aiman's connection in your Google Account settings. Removing that connection does not itself delete your Aiman account or learning history; contact us to request that.

3. How we use information

We use information to authenticate you, save and personalise your learning, generate replies and exercises, play requested speech, process purchases, respond to support requests, prevent abuse, and understand and improve service reliability. Optional profile details help tailor learning topics and examples.

The Mac companion can sync saved phrases and send text you enter for a lookup to Aiman. Its preferences and downloaded content may also be stored on your Mac. Avoid entering passwords, payment details, or other sensitive information in learning messages or lookups.

4. Services and sharing

Service providers process relevant information to operate Aiman:

  • Hosting and storage: Vercel and our database and cache providers host the app and store account, learning, and operational data.
  • AI and search: relevant messages, learning context, and optional profile details are sent through Vercel AI Gateway to the model provider used for a feature, such as Google. Search features may send a relevant query to TinyFish. AI providers process this content to produce responses.
  • Audio: ElevenLabs receives text when used to generate spoken pronunciation.
  • Email and payments: Resend delivers email sign-in codes; Stripe receives checkout information such as your email, plan, and account reference to process payments.
  • Analytics and diagnostics: Vercel Web Analytics helps measure site usage. Where enabled, Langfuse processes AI usage and diagnostic traces, which can include learning inputs and outputs, to help investigate errors and evaluate response quality.

Authorised operators can review account activity and learning content for support, troubleshooting, and service improvement. If you make a chat public, anyone with its sharing link may view it and share the link further. We may also disclose information where required by law or necessary to protect users and the service.

5. Storage and retention

We use access controls, protected sessions, and encrypted connections to help protect information. No service can guarantee absolute security. Our providers may process and store information outside your country, including outside Singapore.

We retain account and learning information as needed to provide the service and retain operational or payment records as needed for security, resolving disputes, and legal obligations. Deleting an item in the app may hide it from your account without immediately erasing it from internal records or backups. Contact us for an account or data-deletion request; we will explain any information that must be retained and why.

6. Your choices and requests

You can use an email sign-in code instead of Google, choose whether to provide optional profile details, and choose whether to share a chat. Browser controls let you clear cookies and local storage, although this may sign you out or reset preferences.

To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, or to withdraw consent to its use, email zonghangoh@gmail.com. Include the email address you use for Aiman and what you would like us to do. We may verify your identity before acting on a request. Do not send your password or sign-in code. Withdrawing information needed to run your account may mean we can no longer provide some features.

7. Contact and updates

For privacy questions about Aiman at abang.chat, contact zonghangoh@gmail.com. We update this page when our practices change and show the latest revision date above. Material changes may also be communicated in the app or by email.
